No recording of this page yet — pages are read aloud by a person, not a computer voice, so the audio comes after the words are final.
Trust and privacy
Who sees what you tell us
The short version: your name and your health answers are kept in two separate databases that cannot be joined without a third, and every use of that third one is recorded with a reason.
The one thing worth understanding
Most services keep your name and your health answers in the same place, in different columns of the same table. Safebodi does not.
- One database holds who you are — the email address or phone number you signed in with, and the permissions you have given. It contains no health answers at all.
- A second holds your answers, labelled with a meaningless code instead of a name. It contains nothing that identifies you.
- A third, kept separately and encrypted, holds the link between them.
If somebody broke into one of them, they would get health answers belonging to nobody, or names with no health data attached.
Turning an answer back into a person can only be done through that third database, and every single time it is done — successfully or not — the system records who did it and the reason they gave.
Will my employer or the government see this?
No employer, insurer or government body has access to this platform, and none is given data that identifies anybody. Answers that leave Safebodi for research or for a commercial licence have already had every identifying detail removed, and a release is blocked outright if any group in it is small enough that somebody could be recognised by being the only person who fits.
Still to be published: our position on what happens if Safebodi is ever legally compelled to disclose something. That is being written with our Data Protection Officer, and we would rather leave it blank than guess at it here.
Will my family find out?
Your account is yours. Nothing is shared with anybody in your household, and nothing is sent to you unless you ask for it.
- Signing in needs a code sent to you — by email for now, and by text message once that is ready. The code stops working after ten minutes, so an old message is not a way in.
- We show only part of your email address or number on screen, so a shared handset does not leave it on display.
- Signing out clears the session on that phone. On a shared phone, sign out when you finish.
What it costs you
Contributing is free, and reading this site is free. Your network charges its usual rate for the data you use, so these pages are built to be small: the page you are reading loads no tracking scripts, no advertising, and no fonts or images from anybody else's servers.
Safebodi will never ask you for money, your bank details or your bank verification number.
What you can take back, and how
Every permission is separate and every one can be withdrawn from a single page, in two taps, without contacting anybody or giving a reason.
- Withdrawing stops any new use of your answers immediately.
- It cannot reach data already included in a release that has been sent out. We say so plainly on the withdrawal screen rather than implying a clean erase.
- Every choice you make produces a receipt you can read or download at any time. Receipts never change — a later decision adds one.
Who is behind this
Safebodi is a Nigerian company.
Still to be published: our registered address and a named person to contact. Both are being finalised and will appear here. Until they do, please treat this page as incomplete.
